target weighing
With the target weighing function (checkweighing), the weight value displayed on a weighing platform is compared with a self-defined target value. Possible tolerances can be specified. As an alternative to the target value as a weight, a self-defined number of pieces can also be the target, depending on the evaluation device. This function can be used to ensure that, for example, the same number of parts are always packed into a container.
Optical signals (traffic lights) or acoustic signals indicate to the user whether they are below, within or above the target weight.
Process using the example of an 83sigma evaluation device with target weighing function and enabled inputs/outputs:
Start the target weighing:
1. Press the function key.
2. Enter target value or confirm preset target value.
3. Tolerance -- enter or preset tolerance -- confirm.
4. Tolerance - enter or preset tolerance - confirm.
5. Enter tolerance + or confirm preset tolerance +.
6. The secondary display shows the reference, target value, tolerance - and tolerance +.
The values of the three adjustable tolerance limits are entered as a deviation from the target value. This allows you to change only the target value and keep the tolerance limits unchanged as a deviation from the target value. You have set the target value and tolerances for the target weighing and started the target weighing. The signals for the digital outputs or the acoustic-optical signal generator are activated according to the entered values. If a container that is to be filled is used, it can be tared beforehand. (This can also be done automatically.)
When target weighing is active, the target value and the adjustable tolerance limits are shown on the secondary display. The main display shows the current weight value and allows the target value on the secondary display to be compared with the actual value (status control).
The target weighing is active immediately after being called and must be deactivated manually.
Meaning of the signal transmitters:
Yellow lights up - weight or number of pieces below the target range.
Buzzer - Weight or number of pieces close to target value
Green lights - weight or quantity in the target range
Red lights up - weight or number of pieces above the target range.
By the way, external indicator lights or acoustic signal generators can also be connected to the outputs integrated in the evaluation device.
Of course, the values determined can be printed or sent to a computer. Different target values can also be stored in an article database in the device. Different empty weights of the containers can also be saved.
The 83sigma and 84vario evaluation devices have the target function integrated, although the operation is of varying levels of comfort.
Of course, there are also other scales with a target weighing function...
