calibration

We organize the calibration of your scale(s) - here at the factory or at the customer's site.

  • Appointment with the calibration office
  • Preparation of calibration application and other documents required for calibration
  • Provision of calibration weights
  • If necessary, prior repair and/or adjustment of the scale

Calibration of floor scales

Calibration of vehicle scales

You can tell when your scale needs to be calibrated again by the calibration mark applied during the last calibration. If the scale was purchased calibrated but has not yet been calibrated by the Weights and Measures Office, you can tell by the information on the rating plate.

Calibration mark:

The year indicated in a square with inwardly curved edges indicates the year in which the calibration period begins.

Optional additional sign (information mark)

Marking of conformity-assessed scales (scales initially verified by the manufacturer)

The year after the M indicates when the scale was placed on the market. This also marks the start of the calibration period.

Verification periods for commercial scales (Class III)

Here are some examples:

A counter scale with this calibration mark would have to be recalibrated in 2018.

A vehicle scale with this marking on the rating plate of the indicator would have to be recalibrated in 2019.

According to Section 38 of the Measurement and Calibration Act, the required recalibration should be applied for with the responsible calibration office at least 10 weeks before the end of the calibration period (i.e., the year in question). This has a major advantage! If you submit the calibration application on time, your measuring device will be considered a calibrated measuring device until the official inspection, and it may continue to be used until then. Therefore, if you do not receive an appointment for calibration until the following year, your scale will be considered calibrated until then, even if the calibration period has actually expired.
