Our load cell supplier Scaime announces that several of its load cells - in particular the AXH, AVS, AVX, F60X, SK30X, CB50X, R10X and R30X models - have successfully passed the IP69K protection rating tests. This certification, obtained after rigorous testing by an independent test laboratory, attests to the robustness and reliability of the load cells for harsh industrial environments, making them suitable for use in the most demanding environments.
What is IP69K certification?
The IP69K certification is one of the highest levels of protection in waterproofing standards, specified for industrial environments that require frequent and intensive cleaning. The IP index consists of two digits: the first digit indicates the level of protection against solids (in this case dust), the second against liquids. The "9K" level is particularly meaningful because it guarantees resistance to high-pressure and high-temperature cleaning.
To obtain this certification, the sensors underwent tests that included:
- High pressure water jet: Exposed to a water jet with a pressure of up to 100 bar.
- High temperature: The water jet is heated up to 80 °C, simulating the toughest cleaning conditions in industry.
- Multiple beam angles: The sensors are exposed to a beam directed from multiple angles to ensure complete protection and ensure that no infiltrations affect the function.
load cells for harsh industrial environments
With this certification, the load cell models AXH, AVS, AVX, F60X, SK30X, CB50X, R10X and R30X are particularly reliable for areas where strict hygiene and cleaning standards apply, such as in the food and pharmaceutical industries or in the chemical industry.
